CED-2026, Economic Development & the Legacy of Simon Kuznets, Kharkiv, 29 October 2026

Roland Bouffanais has been invited as a keynote speaker at CED-2026, the annual International Scientific Conference “Economic Development and the Legacy of Simon Kuznets”, hosted on 29 October 2026 by Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics (KhNEU) in Ukraine. This year the conference takes the form of a roundtable, “A Rebooting World: Sustainability, Innovation, and New Development Trajectories”, held both in Kharkiv and online. Roland joins a line-up of keynote speakers that includes Beata Javorcik (Chief Economist, EBRD), Howard J. Shatz (RAND), Volodymyr Ponomarenko (KhNEU) and Mark J. Brandt (Tilburg University).

His contribution will draw on our work in complexity science and computational diplomacy, and on how data-driven, AI-based approaches can support international cooperation and decision-making at a time of profound global change.
